Oooh...this is a stunningly beautiful piece. I love the haze of the frothy green tint. Her eyes are surreal and the lace detail is wonderful.

Gah, I love the detail you put onto everything... the lace.... it must take so much patience! I end up just doing very impressionistic things because I don't have that patience, heh.

Haha thanks. Honestly, it does take forever. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to little details, but I have problems doing the large open spaces because I have no confined direction

I'm actually trying to adopt a little of the impressionistic style for backgrounds and clothes and things that I'm not very good at, but little detail-oriented me wants to spend hours and hours painting every molecule

I used to be more detailed oriented like you... but this year (after California Summer School for the Arts that I went to in SoCal) I got much better at just doing loose brush strokes, and then going back and adding detail later if I wanted it. I think it's just kind of a mental thing, you know? At least that's how it is for me... depending on where I am in my life, my art style drastically changes.

But detail oriented isn't always bad. Contrary, you're incredibly good at it, so it's wonderful! But it's always nice to be able to just sloppily do backgrounds.... makes for nice contrast too.

Yeah currently I'm working on varying my abilities... but I haven't had much time. I could never do art as a profession because I'm so sporadic in my inspiration... it takes alot to do detail work

This is a beautiful portrait, I love how soft and pleasing to look at the colouring is, combined with the incredible detail on the lace and jewellery.
